It's more than disappointing that some F/C members would automatically assume that the hackers were non-members isn't it? I tend to agree with what Kris said in that thread, that it's just hackers - could literally be anyone couldn't it? To play Devil's Advocate here it could be a Fan Club member who can't get into the chat and then decides if they can't get in then nobody else will! [img]graemlins/devil.gif[/img]

As for the rest, I'm going to guess that everyone already knows how I feel. Once they set up access to the man as an exclusive right, then people are going to fight tooth and nail to protect what they think is theirs. *shakes head sadly*

I do understand why people sometimes feel possesive. Heck, I get that way some times, but for different reasons (Mostly when someone has insulted him in a way that I feel is unjustified) but people have to let go.

You know what the root of this problem is? Or at least, what I think it is? It is actually using the terms "Member" and "Non-Member". So you know... I am going to stop doing that. From now on, no more.

I read that thread and thought oh here wego again, it's the us and them situation. For gawd's sake at the end of the day we're all here for a reason, we're Darren fans. I think Janie's right the hacker could so easily have been someone brassed off with not being able to get into the chat [img]smile.gif[/img]

Just because you're not a member of the FC doesn't make you any less of a fan. It's a shame that there's this nastiness for something which should have been so good.

It's like a few days ago when he did the surprise chat and certain people were moaning that they didn't think he should do these. One even said she hated him for doing it, now that is going too far. To be honest, if I was him and I read all this I think I'd be inclined to say 'stuff the lot of you'. He can't win can he?

I'm sorry, I have to say that I don't think it's a matter of Darren "winning" or not. Most fans don't hold him personally responsible and most aren't saying that he's made the decisions that caused the tension. So he's not the one who 'wins' or doesn't...... does that make sense? Maybe it's whoever is making the decisions that can't win.

Btw, and off topic for this thread, I personally think the surprise chats are a great idea. If whoever is making decisions is going to focus on the fan club as the main way to reach the fan base, then surprise chats (like his old Savagefan posts) are a great way to keep excitment and interest going during a down time.

Everyone loses when sides are taken, not just Darren *chuckle* People not in the fanclub lose for being blamed, people in the fanclub lose diginity as a whole over the petty actions of the few and Darren fans as a huge whole lose because yet again something so small has created such a riff *wry chuckle*
